Updating your game?

Ordinary in-game saves from October 25 r1–r6 and October 24 r1–r3 remain compatible. Back up and save in an unchanged town before updating so changed actors reload cleanly. Older saves inside Barb’s resized gym are repaired on Continue.
October 23 r7–r9 saves retain the prior advice to save outside Victory Road/Victory’s Peak before updating.
NEW GAME REQUIRED for October 23 r6 and earlier saves. Keep them with their original ROM. Do not transfer emulator save states.

Everything you need, in one package.

The ZIP includes the game, mGBA setup instructions, a general checklist and optional checks for previous findings.

1. Download and extract the ZIP into a folder on your computer.
2. Open START-HERE.txt or README.md. Install mGBA from the official downloads page.
3. In mGBA, choose File → Load ROM and open Shine-and-Scent-Playtest.gba. Press Enter at the title screen, then choose NEW GAME with X.

Play first. Share your impressions.

Note anything fun, confusing, awkward or broken. Send your findings, location and screenshots to your playtest coordinator. Save the optional retest checklist for later—it contains spoilers.

Explore wherever normal progression allows. This update includes the resized Barb Gym and old-save recovery, new trainer artwork, leader phone numbers and badge-six rematches, Trainer Card progress, Contest scarves, route-cast repairs and refreshed research exteriors. All earlier fixes, including POK-220, remain included. Some presentation remains in progress. The ZIP includes setup instructions and an updated checklist.
